Kevin Matson

Violinist Kevin Matson received his Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he studied under Mark Kaplan. He then returned to his native California to study with Ian Swensen, earning his Master's Degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Immediately following his Masters, Kevin was offered a position in the Monterey Symphony, and has enjoyed exciting opportunities as a chamber musician. As a soloist, he has worked with the Livermore-Amador Symphony Orchestra, the Merced Symphony, the Stockton Symphony and the Redwood Symphony orchestras, who he will be joining again as a soloist in their upcoming 2019/20 season.

He developed a passion for teaching during his time in Indiana, where he studied violin pedagogy with Brenda Brenner, and Emilio Colon. Kevin went on to receive his Suzuki method certification and has held studios at both the German International School of Silicon Valley and Opus 1 Music Studio, both in the Bay area.
