Ruby Wang is an accomplished violinist and pianist born and raised in Montgomery County, MD. Ruby is a two-time, concurrent 1st place winner of both the Maryland State Music Teachers Association (MSMTA) Violin Solo Competition and the MSMTA Piano Concerto Competition. Subsequently, she performed with the Maryland Classic Youth Orchestra as concertmaster of the orchestra and also as the first-place piano soloist winner of the State piano competition. In addition to her engagements as a soloist, Ruby also worked as a teacher’s assistant to Hyun Park (piano) and Judy Silverman (violin), and tutored other students from their studios.
Ruby was awarded a $12,000 scholarship as a Maryland Distinguished Scholar Finalist and a $56,000 scholarship as a recipient of the Linehan Artist Scholarship at the University of Maryland, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Violin Performance. Ruby currently resides in New York City, where she continues to perform and teach violin. Ruby recently performed in Carnegie Hall on three occasions as a violin soloist with the China Arts Foundation International Orchestra. Last month, she performed as a soloist at Historic St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church with the New York Virtuosi and the Salvatones.
Ruby is an experienced violin teacher and maintains a large private studio in the NYC metro area. She is excited to join The Elizabeth Faidley Studio in 2015.
